Project Description: Our Rondout Carriage House is a compact 24' square residence designed to create a spacious, thoughtfully crafted living experience. The project features two bedrooms and two bathrooms with radiant heating and an open-plan living room and kitchen crowned by a dramatic cathedral ceiling that enhances light and volume throughout the space.
Architecturally, the design draws inspiration from historic carriage and barn structures. A stylized faux barn door establishes a subtle historical reference while adding scale and visual context to the front façade. The gable roof profile, paired with an attached dormer, creates a distinctive silhouette and reinforces the home’s unique architectural character.
Inside, warm tongue-and-groove pine ceilings, crisp white walls and sleek custom cable stair railings establish a clean, inviting interior. An upper deck with a private hot tub sits above the carport, offering an elevated outdoor retreat.
As a final surprise, the design includes a compact loft with a Velux skylight and balcony-style pop-out, creating a unique escape where the client can step outside and take in expansive views of the Rondout.
